Greetings Parents and Families of the Colleton County School District.
As we embark upon the Holiday Break, we will continue to emphasize academic learning as our main focus. Although there will be various events and activities this week, please encourage your child to continue to do their very best academically, behaviorally and socially. We know this is a season of excitement and sometimes students may involve themselves in behavioral actions they would normally not do. Please join us in encouraging your child to institute safe practices at all times during the school day and at after school activities. We want to close this semester with high academic achievement and no behavioral issues so we can begin the new semester on January 7, 2025 focused on learning.
Friday, December 20, 2024 will be a half day of school. Please check our website for dismissal times at each location.
Thank You for your continued support as we work together to prepare every student for success!

Updated Statement for November 13, 2024
Upon further investigation of the student incident that took place on November 13, 2024, at Colleton County High School, the administration in collaboration with the Colleton County Sheriff’s Office has determined that the actions of both students reached the level of assault and battery rather than inappropriate horseplay as initially reported by the students involved to the administration. Charges for both students are pending through the Sheriff’s Office. In addition to charges pending by CCSO, the Colleton County School District will be pursuing appropriate disciplinary actions against the students to include but not limited to expulsion pending a disciplinary hearing. The disciplinary steps are in line with the District’s Student Code of Conduct.

Greetings, Colleton County School District Families & Staff,
On the afternoon of November 13, 2024 at Colleton County High School, two students were involved in horseplay in a class that resulted in one student being cut by a pair of scissors held by the other student. Administration has investigated the disciplinary matter and has not found malicious intent on the other student’s behalf.
The school district, as well as our high school administrative team, take all disciplinary matters seriously and implement immediate actions to resolve student incidents following the Student Code of Conduct.

Lincoln Tech’s presentation to several of Colleton County High School’s Juniors and Seniors was conducted on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in Ms. Herndon’s business classes. Ms. Audrey Phelan was the presenter and she shared the history of Lincoln Tech, shared some reality situations with our Juniors and Seniors such as budgeting, and helped the students realize that some expenses increase with “fun” things. Mr. Edward Myers and Mr. Jacob Flangan with Lincoln Tech accompanied Ms. Phelan as well.
Lincoln Tech is a “hands-on” training school and will help create job security. Lincoln Tech is career specific and training is shorter in length. Are you what we are looking for? was asked by Audrey. Well, ask yourself these questions: Are you a hands-on learner? Are you looking for a career not just a job? Are you passionate about what you do? There are scholarships available, they are located in GA and Tenn, and if you are interested in applying, contact Audrey Phelan at aphelan@lincolntech.edu. You may also research the school at www.lincolntech.edu.
Ms. Footman thanks Ms. Herndon and her business students for allowing this presentation to come to their classes.

Dear Community,
At the Colleton County School District, we truly value the feedback from our students, parents, and the community. To ensure everyone’s voice is heard, we will be hosting food tastings across the district for our students. The most popular items, as determined by your votes, will be incorporated into our menu cycle. We also encourage parents and caregivers to share their thoughts. Please scan the QR code below to participate in our questionnaire. Our third tasting of this school year will be held during the upcoming Cocoa and Mittens Holiday Drop-In event on December 19, 2024. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback!
