We are excited to share that beginning next week (March 30-April 3), our students will participate in the Spring iREADY Diagnostic Assessment. This assessment is an important tool that helps us better understand each child’s academic progress and individual needs.
Why the iREADY Diagnostic is Important?:
-Provides a clear picture of your child’s current skill level in reading and math
-Helps teachers identify strengths and areas for growth
-Guides personalized instruction to support student success
-Tracks progress from the beginning of the year to now
How You Can Support Your Child?:
-Ensure your child gets a good night’s sleep each night
-Encourage a positive mindset! Remind them to do their best!
-Make sure they arrive at school on time each day
-Provide a healthy breakfast to help them stay focused
-Remind them to take their time and show what they know.
In addition, we will be celebrating “Mission Possible Spirit Week” to keep our students motivated and energized during testing! 🎉

On March 10, 2026, Colleton County School District held the Committee of the Whole meeting. We are proud to share the Bells Elementary School Beta Club won 4th place in the National Beta Club State Competition for Elementary Campaign Skit. They proudly displayed their award and poster board showing information about their club while reading the mission statement.
Staff recognition included: BES – Haicycris Lapuz (resource teacher), BSECC – Christy Crosby (powerschool clerk), CES –Maria Guzman (4th grade teacher), FHE – Merilyn Williams (media specialist), HES – Dian Clark (3rd grade teacher), NES – Kendrae Hiers (PE teacher), CCMS – Kim Willis (7th grade secretary), CCHS – Toija Bennett (positive behavior support specialist), and TCTC – Jerry Edens (welding teacher), CALC – Martha Adams (receptionist).
During the staff recognitions, Colleton Adult Learning Center director, Chris Horvath, presented Mrs. Martha Adams with a clock for her length of time serving with the Colleton County School District.

To make the week fun and engaging, we will have Spirit Days throughout the week. Students are invited to participate by dressing according to each day’s theme. Please see the Spirit Day schedule that is attached.
Participation is optional, but we encourage all students to join in the celebration as we promote literacy and the joy of reading across our school community and nation.
